About

This site is a pedagogical experiment built around the concept of creating with and for a community. This work is the culmination of a semester-long collaboration between five CUNY faculty members and their students from five different campuses, made possible by our participation in CUNY’s Transformative Learning in the Humanities Initiative (Cohort 3, Spring 2022).

Using this digital space to open up our classes and connect our students, we have tried to create an interdisciplinary community that can read (or view) and respond to each other. The work shared here represents fields across the humanities, from composition & rhetoric to literature to fine arts. Notions of audience, place, and identity–as well as the analysis of images and text–are woven through our five courses. Each course has a sub-page on the site, and each sub-page features an artifact from our respective Spring 2022 classes. Students from each class responded to one other class, offering feedback in line with that class’s goals and learning outcomes.

We invite you to explore each course page and the corresponding class blogs to learn more.
